Representative from the First District of Bay County, 1893-4. Was born in Goderich, Ont., Jan. 21, 1864. He came to Michigan when two years of age with his parents, locating at Bay City. His education was acquired at the high school of Bay City and the University of Michigan. He practiced law for a short time, and then engaged as contractor and builder. September, 1891, he was married to Miss Lucia Eastwood, of Bay City. In politics a Democrat.

Vol. 6, 1887 - John H. Holmes, '84, has returned from his southern trip in search of a place to locate and is now settled in Bay City.

Vol. 17, 1911 - John H. Holmes, '84, is superintending the erection of Government buildings. His permanent address is Bay City, Mich. He is now at Easton, Pa.
