Pioneer of Bay, Answers Call
Horace B. Mix Dies Sunday; Was Ill More than Two Years

Horace B. Mix passed away at his home Sunday morning at nine o’clock after an illness of over two years. Mr. Mix was born at Fort Ann, New York January 6, 1841. He enlisted at Worcester, Mass. In the engineering corps, serving three years. He was at West Point one year, coming to the Saginaw valley at the expiration of that year. He was in the employ of N.B. Bradley & Sons and Bradley Miller Co. the last 25 years. Mr. Mix leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. D. G. Harvey of Kilborn, Wis. and Mrs. O. Laderach of this city. The funeral will take place Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. under the auspices of Portsmouth Lodge No. 190 at the house 1307 Broadway. The burial of the little grandson who died one month ago will take place at the same time. Interment will be in Elm Lawn.
