Green Ridge was originally called Eickemeyer Cemetery, named after its founder, Edward A. Eickemeyer (1826-1895). The cemetery's entrance is off Tuscola Road. Adjoining its west boundary is St. Stanislaus Cemetery, and across Tuscola Road are Pine Ridge Cemetery and Seaman Cemetery.
